WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS NUDITY
Us creatives like to let our hair down from time to time and get together to do something different from what we do every day. Cue the styled shoot.
An Indian themed styled boudoir shoot in the Forest had been on my ‘shoot bucket-list’ for quite some time, and when one of my past clients told me that she owned an Indian headdress, I was so excited! It was time to tick this one off my bucket list! I teamed up with Rachele and Kate from Barossa Style Bar who I work with on a regular basis for boudoir shoots, and their hair and makeup vision for the shoot was executed perfectly!
The shoot day was forecast for a warm 34 degrees and I was having a slight panic attack the morning of the shoot as I tried to figure out if the forest was in the total fire ban area, which could mean having to postpone the shoot because the forest would be closed. The thing about a styled shoot outdoors, is there are so many things that can go wrong – you have no control of the weather, you have to work with light that you are given, you could have issues accessing the area, there is no guarantee of complete privacy etc – so much effort and planning goes into a shoot like this, you just have to take your chances and hope for the best on the day. Surprisingly the forest had a lovely breeze when we arrived and it was quite comfortable to shoot – not hot at all. The sun was in and out of the clouds which gave us a good variety of images, even if it did keep me on my toes trying to get the right camera settings for the constantly changing light! It didn’t rain, even though there was rain/storms forecast, the storm was not due to hit until the evening. Mother Nature really looked after us that day!
