There’s only a 2 week window each year when the orchards are in bloom, and it happens to be in the middle of August, one of the coldest months of the year. I had been wanting to do a styled bridal boudoir shoot in the orchards for some time now, but I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find someone that was willing to be photographed in their underwear, outdoors, on a winter’s day!
I decided to bite the bullet and book a day to do the shoot. I had exactly one week to find a model and put my vision together with the help of some very talented vendors.
There was only one day in the flowering window that we were all available, and Mother Nature had plans for wind, rain and thunder storms this day. We took our chances and I’m so glad we did!
On the day of the shoot, I was a nervous wreck! We only had one chance to do this! So much effort had gone into bringing this shoot together at such short notice, if it started to rain, our efforts would be wasted.
The morning of the shoot was sunny, but windy, and I was super nervous that the weather would take a turn before we got to do our shoot in the afternoon. I was watching out the window all day, and could see the clouds starting to roll in.
We only had a limited time to get the shots we needed as the clouds rolled closer and closer to the orchards. I’m happy to say that Mother Nature was kind to us that day, and only started raining on our drive home. Thank you Mother Nature for being so kind to us!
A huge thanks to lovely Miss B for braving the cold for this amazing shoot!
